History:
2 bucks and 2 does from the outcross litter were held back and paired. All 4 littermates were varying levels of Irish. The outcome of one litter was Black, 1 unmarked and the rest Irish and undermarked Irish, 1 Harley and the rest standard coat. The Poor Black Harley buck was the outlier in markings, as he seemed to be Berkshire with headspot. Due to the Harley coat, this may need to be tested out.
The outcome of the second litter was Black, 1 Russian Blue, 1 Blue and 1 Russian Silver, markings included undermarked Irish, Irish and headspot Berkshire. The Russian Blue Harley buck and the 3 Blue variant does were held back for mating. The Russian Silver doe proved to be extremely poor temperament and we elected not to use her. The harley buck was paired to the Russian Blue and Blue does, and the litters yielded a Blue harley, 3 Russian Blues, 3 Russian Silvers and some Black. Markings included headspot berkshire, lightning blaze berkshire, irish and unmarked.
The Blue harley doe and a Russian Silver buck were be sent to Mischief Managed Rattery, 2 Russian Blue does were sent to Imagine Rattery, and we retained a Russian Silver and Russian Blue doe and a Russian Silver buck.
We paired the Russian Silver buck to both does. Unfortunately, neither of these litters came out as planned. Each doe gave birth to 3 babies. Of these 6 babies total, 3 passed away in the first 48 hours, and the remaining 3 passed away between 4 and 8 weeks of age with no apparent reasoning. We paired the sire of the does to them, and this time the Russian Blue doe gave us a litter of 6. Unfortunately, 2 of these babies died over the first 2 weeks. 2 Albinos (one standard, one harley), a black harley and a russian blue standard remained.
The albino boys were sent to Mischief Managed Rattery. We retained the Black Harley buck and RB Standard doe, however the black harley buck passed away with no warning. We were going to be pairing the doe to her sire once she is of age, however he suddenly passed away before we were able to do so. We instead outcrossed to our Shakespeare line to CLR Othello, who shares ancestors with this line. Unfortunately, none of the litter was viable due to poor temperament.
We have now received a buck and doe pair from Mischief Managed Rattery, who were sired by the uncle of Dory, Bing Bong. This line is closed for adoptions until we have rectified all issues.
Goals:
The end goal for this line is to make Russian Silver Platinum (Russian Blue + Blue + Chocolate) Harley and Standard Coat. I plan to establish and correct the current Russian Silver shade and genetics aspect in terms of markings, as well as improve and perfect the temperament and harley coat. Once my chocolate line has been established and I am pleased with the temperament, I will then merge the lines and begin the process of attempting to breed Russian Silver Platinum. As this is a triple gene variety (meaning that aside from the base gene of either black or agouti, it has 3 other genes) this may take me a very long time.
Timeline:
The following is a timeline representing all the major events of the line from obtaining the founding rats, up to all future pairings. All future information is purely speculation and estimates, outside factors and unexpected events may change the planned course.

History:
When I first obtained Arceus, I believed him to be Russian Platinum Silver (Russian Blue + Blue + Chocolate). He did not meet the shade of Russian Silver and more closely represented Russian Platinum Silver. He was bred to Luna as, at the time, she was my only black rat. In the litter, there were 7 babies. Only 1 of which was black, the rest were Blue. I held back all 4 females of the litter, including the black doe. Throughout the months I decided only to breed Arceus to the black daughter, to get as accurate representation of his genes as possible. At this point, I still believed him to be Russian Platinum Silver. However, upon breeding to his daughter, he proved to be Russian Silver. I knew this due to the fact that his daughter produced 3 Blue, 3 Russian Blue and 6 Russian Silver.
The odd thing about him, which I found out from the same litter, was that his markings were actually causing the lightened shade. Several of his offspring were a lighter shade than their siblings of the same colour. The common factor among these rats were that they all had a headspot. This indicated to me the possibility of either the recessive gene that causes headspots and blazes (hs/hs), or the extreme gene, which is what causes variegated rats. Oftentimes variegated rats will also have a headspot or blaze, unrelated to the recessive headspot gene. To further test the marking genetics, I held back a self buck and a “Berkshire with headspot” doe. I had hopes that their litter would clarify more questions I have regarding this line, however the doe became infertile at 8 months old. The buck was then mated to CLR Famine, and the litter produced irish and self, meaning that he was infact undermarked irish.
At the same time of pairing Famine and Arcanus, Arcanus was also paired to an Essex Based BEW (Black Eyed White) doe. They produced a litter of 4. 1x Mismarked BEW doe (According to the notes of certain breeders, this should have been a genetic impossibility, we will be test breeding further), 1 variegated Essex Buck (Irish + Essex) and 2 Headspot Berkshires (1 buck and 1 doe). The Essex based pair was held back and later bred. They produced a litter of variegated Essex, BEW, Irish, Blazed Berkshire and Headspot Berkshire. Most kits were black aside from 2 Russian Blues and a Russian Silver. The Russian Silver doe is Variegated Essex and was held back for pairing to the Russian Blue Harley Buck from the other litters.
Goals:
The end goal for this line is simply to make what I originally thought I had, Russian Platinum Silver (Russian Blue + Blue + Chocolate). I plan to establish and correct the current Russian Silver shade and genetics aspect in terms of markings. Once my chocolate line has been established and I am pleased with the temperament, I will then merge the lines and begin the process of attempting to breed Russian Platinum Silver. As this is a triple gene variety (meaning that aside from the base gene of either black or agouti, it has 3 other genes) this may take me a very long time. Harley has now been integrated into the line and the line will permanently merge with the Pixar Line.

History:
I received a pair of harley carriers from Wild Whiskers Rattery, Articuno and Mesprit. One side of the line has a pedigree that goes back to the original import, and the other side has no information and is a local husky. Unfortunately Articuno was not a friendly rat, but his sister has more than made up for it with her spunk and sweetness. When they were paired, the temperament was 50/50 in the litter. Half were like their father and half were like their mother. Sadly none of the females were friendly. I chose to keep the only 2 harleys in the litter, a male and a female. The litter these 2 produced were a bit of a double edged sword. Due to unforseen issues, half the litter passed away, however the 4 that survived were all lovely. I chose to keep a single doe to pair back to her father. Unfortunately, this litter was not viable. The doe was then paired to the buck from our blue line.
Goals:
My main goals for this line are to improve and perfect both the coat and temperament. The biggest issue with harley in general is that they can have skin and lactation issues. I would like to breed for thick and plush coats, with does that lactate as well as their standard coat counter parts.
